What are your plans for this New Year’s Eve? Are you interested in a family-oriented event that you can enjoy with your children? How about a black-tie party at an aquarium? Connecticut has all that and more. Say hello to the new year with these exciting NYE events in Connecticut.
This event is “a celebration of the New Year through the arts,” according to their website. For more than 30 years, Hartford has been hosting First Night, an alcohol-free, family-friendly day that starts at 2 p.m. and lasts up until midnight. It’s a celebration with a plethora of different activities and venues all around downtown Hartford. With professional musicians, artists, performance groups, and exhibits, this celebration highlights the arts as well as different cultures. The day includes two fireworks shows at 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. in Bushnell Park, and most of the activities are free.
Hilton Mystic’s New Year’s Eve Bash goes from 9 p.m. until after 1 a.m. Tickets are $20 until December 24, then $25 until the event. This 21 and over event requires you to bring ID. Ticket prices include a concert with Wicked Peach, a midnight champagne toast, and then a special breakfast at 1 a.m. Guests rooms will be available, so you won’t have to worry about finding a way home (other than the elevator).
This family-friendly event lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 31 and is a unique way to spend the holiday with your loved ones. Admission is $12 for non-members or $6 for members. There will be a countdown for a ball drop at noon so your kids can join in on the late-night fun earlier in the day. Confetti, balloons, and party hats included! Dance the day away, take photos in the photo booth, march in the New Year’s parade, and even get a visit from Father Time.
