Jonathan Trumbull Library Newsletter - June 2023

From: Jonathan Trumbull Library
June 1, 2023

Dear Community,

We are thrilled to welcome the season of summer with you all. New books arrive every week and they await many adventures with you on your vacations and staycations. Summer Solstice, June 21st, kicks off our summer reading (more on page 4); and alongside our resident turtle, Marcel, we look forward to the longest day of sunshine, ideally with a recent checkout from JTL.

Whether you need gardening books, beach reads, travel guides, or the next book in your favorite series-- JTL can put the right book in your hands. And don't forget about our movie collection; check out a DVD for something to watch while cooling off during hot summer days. If you're into playing lawn games, visit the library to borrow those too!

If you're looking to add books to your personal collection, don't miss our pop-up book sale on June 10th, held by the Friends of the library.

Fabric Donations Accepted for JTL Quilt
Thursday, June 22 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Do you have old clothes or fabric that isn't being worn/used? Bring them to the story room.

Lady Wendy aka the bag-and-quilt maker, is making a community quilt to hang in the Children's area. It's entitled "All Are Welcome On The Green."
It's the "all" part where your fabric comes in. While Lady Wendy could make the blocks from her stash, she felt it wouldn't be a true community quilt with pieces of fabric from JTL patron. Fabric must be 100% cotton (no knits). Ideal fabric would be button down shirts, skirts, dresses, quilt fabric scraps or stash pieces, etc. Fabric not used in the quilt may wind up in a bag or another quilt. Thank you for your help with this project.
