STEAM Train @ ATW

for ages 2 to 5 | a drop-in event

STEAM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. STEAM activities are an excellent opportunity to introduce these concepts and promote skills that can set you up for creative, scientific, and collaborative thinking, now and in the future. So, get ready to get hands-on with a series of DIY stations.

Lit Littles

Take part in 30-minutes of early literacy skill building at Edward Smith Library on Tuesdays at 10:30AM.

This program is meant for preschool bound children with a caregiver.

Miss Donna has 30-minutes of music, movement, and stories to will keep you groovin' at Atwater Memorial Library on Mondays at 10:30AM

Head to Smith Library the 2nd Saturday of every month to experience music, movement, and stories for 5 year olds and under! Every month will have a different theme to keep you engaged.

Thanksgiving Storytime @ ATW

Monday November 20 | 10:30AM

ages 2 -5

Meet us at Atwater Library for a hands-on storytime that will use stories, music and movement to get us in the holiday spirit! A Thanksgiving craft will be included, so get ready to get crafty.

Telebration:

a Celebration of Oral Tradition for families

Tellabration is a mammoth storytelling event - and that's no tall tale! It's a storytelling phenomenon, made up of dozens of happenings all over the world. It's purpose is to introduce adults and children to the pleasures of the oral art of storytelling, which is truly an interactive experience. And, you now have two chances to attend.

Meris Palmer, is a certified teacher who tells stories to audiences of all ages. Her repertoire includes: folktales, ethnic tales and literary stories; she offers plenty of interactive opportunities and is known to bring a puppet or two. Her enthusiasm and passion for creativity will be sure to enthrall multiple ages.

Anne-Marie Forer is fortunate to be doing her dream job, combining music, storytelling and teaching! All of her programs include songs, stories, fingerplays, movement and rhythm. Every program is carefully designed to provide a fun and engaging experience that promotes creative thinking, listening and focus.

When your feelings don’t fit into words, art is there to give them shape. Join Health Care Advocates International’s Youth and Family Program Director Tony Ferraiolo as he presents a workshop on using art as a window to talk about love and kindness.

Lego Building Night @ SMI

ages 7 and up

Welcome one and all to an evening of creation at the library! During this event participants will receive a Lego building challenge. Once complete, their masterpieces will be put on display for everyone to enjoy.

Paint Night @ SMI

Thursday November 30 | 5:30PM

ages 7 and up

Join Miss Mary for a step-by-step paint night led by Miss Mary. We will have all the necessary supplies just bring your creativity.
