Town of Lebanon - Help Preserve Lebanon’s History At TrumbullCemetery

From: Town of Lebanon
October 3, 2022

The Town of Lebanon Cemetery Commission is looking for volunteers to clean and re-set ancient headstones in our landmark cemetery.

Saturday October 22 and Sunday October 23, 2022.  9:00 a.m. until noon
Trumbull Cemetery, 428 Exeter Road (route 207)
No experience needed, just enthusiasm! Instruction will be provided. Please bring water (for you and the headstones) and a soft bristle brush for cleaning. For re-setting, it will be helpful to bring a small garden trowel or shovel which can be used to dig around the headstones without contacting them.

Enjoy a day or two working with other lovers of history and our town. Learn from folks well versed in local history and experts in cleaning and re-setting.

Our first two work-days in May had a tremendous impact that we hope to continue. Maybe you can find a grave related a family member or a notable person from Lebanon’s early years. Every stone has a story!

Please email tmeyer@lebanonct.gov to let us know if you plan to come to the party.
