Manchester Next!
The next phase of the Manchester Next project will offer several interesting and engaging opportunities to provide your input as we plan the future of the Town together. Some key dates:
Monday May 16th through Thursday May 19th: The Town’s consultant partner TPUDC will be in town for their week-long
“Planapalooza”  process where they conduct multiple public workshops and meetings. All are welcome to attend.
The Planapalooza process ( https://tinyurl.com/4cmsuush )
consists of two major pieces:
Public Opening Presentation/Hands-on Workshop (Monday 5/16) and the closing Work-in-Progress Presentation (Thursday 5/19); both of these sessions will take place at the Manchester High School cafeteria from 6-8pm.

Open Studio & Technical Meetings: These will take place throughout the day during the entire week at WORK_SPACE (903 Main Street); WORK_SPACE is open to the public and residents should feel free to stop by to see the TPUDC team working during Open Studio. For those interested in the various Technical Meetings, please see schedule for specific times and dates.

Celebrate National Public Works Week at these community events!
Monday, May 16th: Touch-a-Truck, 10am-12pm at Whiton Branch Library – 100 North Main St. Get an up-close look at vehicles like a loader and 10-wheeler from the Town of Manchester’s Public Works Department! Rain date May 17th.
Wed. May 18th: Touch-a-Truck, Games and Give-aways! 9am-12pm at Public Works, 321 Olcott St.
Each booth will include activities regarding each division within Manchester Public Works Department.

Spring Water Main Cleaning
To provide the Town of Manchester’s water customers with the best possible quality of water, we will be cleaning water mains from April 4, 2022 through July 1, 2022. The cleaning is done to remove sediment in the pipe that has accumulated. The following streets are scheduled to be flushed:

Bass Fishing In CT
Manchester Public Library Monday May 16th, 2022 at 6:30PM
Join Dylan Napoleone, an avid fisher, in this all skill level lecture as he talks about everything you should know about bass fishing here in CT. Napoleone will demonstrate and speak on gear, techniques and approaches, fishing in different seasons, and more.

Stamp Out Hunger!
The 30th Annual Letter Carriers’ #StampOutHunger Food Drive is May 14, 2022!   Get ready to collect and bag non-perishable food items. Place them at your mailbox and your carrier will take it back to the post office to then be sorted and donated directly to us at MACC for the Emergency Food Pantry and to Second Congregational Church’s Pantry.   #onemailboxatatime

Manchester Community Services Council Announces Annual Scholarships  
Application Deadline is June 1, 2022, for Students Enrolled in Fall Semester
The Manchester Community Services Council (MCSC) has announced its annual call for scholarship applications. The submission deadline is Wednesday, June 1, 2022, and early applications are encouraged. Information packets including easy-to-complete forms can be requested by emailing Penni Micca, Scholarship Committee chair, at miccap@manchesterct.gov.
MCSC’s Student Scholarships Program consists of three annual award categories: the Ed & Eleanor Coltman Scholarship for students enrolled in Manchester Community College ($500 award); the Justus Joy Scholarship for highest-level Eagle Scouts and Girl Scout Gold Award recipients in Manchester CT Troops ($1,000); and the Dorothy “Dotti” Cannon Scholarship ($500 award) which supports students pursuing a culinary arts education.
