Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Online Appointments are now mandatory! Collection dates: Sept. 24, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Manchester regional center for household hazardous waste collection.

Veterans Stand Down

Sept. 23

The DVA continues our commitment to serving Connecticut’s Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel, and their immediate families by providing this “one stop” access to a range of programs and services offered by state and federal agencies, Veterans organizations, and community-based non-profits at regional sites across the State. Transportation provided from 466 Main St. Manchester at 7am.

Hispanic Heritage Day Celebration

The Manchester Latino Affairs Council and their community partners welcome community members of all heritages and backgrounds to join them for a celebration of hope on Saturday, September 24th at the Leisure Labs at Mahoney Center, 110 Cedar Street.

The event will run rain or shine from 11AM-3PM and feature live music, dancing, food trucks, a resource and cultural market, and

fun for the entire family.

One Book, One Town

"The Other Black Girl" with CT Native & New York Times Best Selling Author Zakiya Dalila Harris

The Manchester community and surrounding towns are invited to read and then meet the author during the 2022 One Book, One Town event. The 2022 One Book, One Town selection is “The Other Black Girl" written by Connecticut native and New York Times Best-Selling Author Zakiya Dalila Harris

This free community-wide reading event culminates with the author visiting on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 6:30PM at the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium at Manchester Community College. No tickets or registration is required for this free event for the public. Harris will speak on her career, inclusion, and more. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by Book Club on the Go. Refreshments will be provided by Brown Butter Creations and GRDN KTCHN.

Copies of the book are available to borrow from both Manchester Public Library buildings for check out.

The One Book, One Town event is supported by The SBM Charitable Foundation, the Cheney Family Foundation, and several other local donors.

A One Book, One Town reading event is a town-wide reading program that encourages building community spirit through a shared reading experience and discussions.
