Tubing Trip to Powder Ridge Ski Area

Saturday, February 18th from 11:15 AM to 4:15 PM.

Join us for a Tubing Trip to Power Ridge Ski Area! Powder Ridge has multiple tubing runs for all ages. Kids ages 7 to 15 can go easy or go to the extreme on their well-groomed snow tubing trails. Bus departs the L.P. Wilson Community Center at 11:15 AM and will return at 4:15 PM. Pack a lunch or bring money for the Mountain Café. $50.00. Call 860-285-1990 with any questions.

Start Smart Soccer & Basketball

Saturdays from January 28 through February 25

Start Smart Soccer and Start Smart Basketball are developmentally appropriate introductory sports programs for children 3 to 6 years old. Course materials and equipment will be given out for students to take home and practice. $55.00. If you have any questions, give us a call at 860-285-1990.

Come Enjoy a Winter Weekend at the Park! Get the family out of the house and into nature this winter! Northwest Park is offering a number of programs on Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5 for community members to enjoy the outdoors. See below for programs and descriptions. Monday, January 23 at 9:30 AM at the Windsor Senior Center.

During this workshop, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will discuss new tax changes this year, share common taxpayer questions and challenges facing seniors, and walk through steps to help you better prepare you for your AARP tax appointment. There will also be time at the end to answer any questions. Free.

Family Paint Night

Friday, February 3 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Millbrook Club House.

Come enjoy a relaxing and fun Paint Night! This workshop can help youth in grades 3-8 and families soothe school and home stressors. Beginner Birding with CT Audubon

Saturday, February 4 from 11:00 AM to noon at the Windsor Senior Center.

Have you ever wanted to become a “bird nerd” and enjoy the hobby of bird watching, but didn’t know how or where to start? Then join us as we host CT Audubon as they present “Birding 101” a program that will help equip you with all the birding basics to start enjoying your new hobby this year. Topics to be discussed include: the basics processes of bird identification, equipment needed, local bird habitats, resources to help you acquire/utilize new skills, and much more. CHR Mental Health First Aid Certification (MHFA)

March 18 & April 1 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Millbrook Clubhouse for ages 18 and older.

Adults are invited to join us for a 2 Part certification course taught by a Mental Health & First Aid (MHFA) Instructor from CHR.This course is available for Windsor Residents only. Lunch is provided. Pre-assessment is required before attending the first session.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.
