Music History Through Stickers: An Interactive Game Sunday, January 29th from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Like music? Well you're going to love this family-friendly activity that will get you tapping your toes and humming some of your favorites. From jazz greats like Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis to country and folk heroes like Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash, you're going to love “Building Your Own History Book” of Music legends. Nonfiction Book Discussion Wednesday, February 1st from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Each month we discuss a new and challenging non-fiction book. This month’s read is LAST CALL AT THE HOTEL IMPERIAL by Debbie Cohen. If you enjoy learning about new things and different experiences, this group is for you. We are always welcoming new members. Join us!

Friends of the Trumbull Library Meeting Thursday February 2nd from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a regular meeting of the Friends of the Trumbull Library. All are invited to attend. The Friends are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to advocate and raise funds for the Trumbull Library. 

Do It Yourself: Painted Jar Saturday, February 4th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Let your creative streak go wild at this painting event. Spend a relaxing afternoon painting a canning jar to use around your house, in your office, or to gift to a friend. All supplies are included for this event. Registration is required.

Floating Palaces: The Classic Liners Sunday, February 5th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. This presentation by Rick Abramson will cover the origins of Trans-Atlantic travel from its infancy, through the halcyon years of the great Atlantic liners in the 1920's and 1930's; the great part these liners played in WWII and the decline of post-war ocean travel with the advent of Trans-Atlantic air travel. Register here. 

Adult Fiction Book Club Thursday, February 9th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join us as we read and discuss Saints For All Occasions by J. Courtney Sullivan. We have a limited amount of copies of this month's book available for check out at the main branch. Register here

Children's Programming

First Tech Challenge: Robotics Competition Presentation Saturday, January 28th from 12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Local teen Rahas Sachdeva and his team will be offering an hour long presentation and information session regarding the process they took over the course of this year in developing their robot for the FIRST Tech Challenge. They will go over what the competition is like, how they built their robot, and answer any questions interested students may have on how to a join a team for the 2023-2024 year. Then, at the end, they will present their robot. This presentation is open to all middle and high school students, and their parents. Registration is not required, but you may do so if you would like to receive an email reminder for the event.

Family Book Cover Bingo Thursday, February 9th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us for a fun game of Book Cover Bingo at the library. You'll be looking for book covers instead of numbers and letters. You'll also hear about the library’s newest children's books. Small prizes awarded to winners. This is an all-ages family program. Registration is required

Chess Club Thursday, February 9th from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. All ages and skill levels are invited to play. Participants must bring their own chess boards. Registration is requested but not required.

Teen Jewelry Making Monday, February 6th from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Patrons are invited to join us in creating their choice of a unique, one of a kind necklace, bracelet or set of earrings. All supplies will be provided. This event is for teens ages 12-18. Register here.

Children's Story Time

Toddler Time for 2s and 3s Monday, January 30th from 9:30 p.m. to 10 a.m. Join Ms. Chelsie in person for stories, songs, and dances. Ages 2-3. To accommodate space restrictions, we will limit the number of participants each week. Register here.

Baby Time Tuesday, January 31st from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Ages birth to 2. Meet in-person at the library for story time! Listen to a story, sing songs, and perform finger plays. Registration is not required.

Preschool Story Time Thursday, February 2nd from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ages 3-5. Join Miss Katie at the library for story time! Listen to stories, sing songs, and complete a simple craft. Registration is not required.
