Abbott's Lobster In the Rough

117 Pearl Street
860-536-7719

Abbott’s Lobster was founded in 1947! Over the decades, we’ve become as popular for our seafood as for our lobster. You’ll love our steamers, stuffed clams, clam chowder — acclaimed the best of its kind by food writers and reporters worldwide. Clams and oysters on the half shell, mussels, shrimp, crab, corn on the cob and our great New England seafood feast, as well as our various seafood rolls, are all mouth watering and prepared fresh. Abbott’s offers a full line of soft drinks, but does not serve alcoholic beverages. Feel free to bring your own wine or beer.

One of my favorite spots in the world. It's hard to find the first time, but so worth it. Best steamers and lobster with an amazing view of the ocean. Bring you table cloth and favorite adult beverage and treat yourself to this amazing experience. Sit dockside or on land. We love it so much we have taken our family and friends here to celebrate our wedding anniversary with us since 2001. Its also a great place to take the kids. Our daughter ate her first steamers and lobster at Abbott's. When she was little she loved to feed the stripped bass oyster crackers. We all love to watch the strippers.

The name pretty much says it all. Lobster and see foods ordered at a counter. Lots of tables inside and out. If you like lobster this way you will love this place. No wait service. Order at the counter, wait for your order and find a nice place to eat your lobster. The view outside are spectacular. Many outdoor possibilities. I would definitely return. There is a more refined restaurant called Costello's a little way up the street but I love the in the rough setting.

Be careful, your popularity, and high volume is minimizing staff friendliness, food appearance and portion sizes....quality drop is close behind. Not as impressed as I once was with Abbott's as I have been with other famous New England lobster-seafood places. Management training- inspiration - food purchasing and prep standards should all be revisited. I'm not giving up on you yet. Good Luck you Legacy!!

Beautiful!!! The character here is amazing. We were in from out of town and this is the first place we were brought to eat. Waiting on our OMG lobster roll and sure that it's going to knock out socks off. Also got lobster deviled eggs. Service was fast and nice but the view is truly exceptional. Update: Lobster roll is what seafood lover dreams are made of!

For the price I was expecting a lot more than what we received. The lobster was not succulent, the lobster bisque had no lobster and no taste I had to go up and ask for old bay which thank God they had. My fiance's lobster Mac and cheese was in a large bowl but hardly anything and it was 24 dollars! This place is getting two stars for the view, and the fact they had old bay and I'm being generous. I will never go back!
