Mission:
Artwell Gallery, Inc. is an artists’ collective that provides gallery space to exhibit contemporary works, offers education in the visual arts, and serves as a forum in which the role the visual arts play in our society can be discussed and explored in order to promote a better understanding and greater appreciation of the visual arts by residents of Litchfield County and surrounding areas.

History:
Founded in 1995 by Stewart Wilson as a not-for-profit gallery where artists could share their work with each other and the public, Artwell is an organization welcoming to everyone and providing space to showcase multiple arts disciplines.  Since its inception Artwell has grown into Litchfield County’s most lively arts organizations and to this day remains true to its motto “Art for All” by retaining an open, non-juried membership policy.  Artwell’s gallery space, store, and classrooms in Torrington, Connecticut provide the community with offerings of art exhibitions, educational programs, as well as promoting the work of its members.
