Welcome to Clay & Wattles Theater Company. We are a 501 (C) (3), performing arts and educational nonprofit organization performing at The Gary The Olivia Theater on the grounds of the Benedictine Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, CT.  Our mission is to organize, manage and execute a professional performing arts center (theater, music, dance) that provides unique opportunities to integrate the performing arts, gives performers a professional and supportive environment in which to grow and develop their skills and provides audiences with rich, complex and compelling theatrical experiences of what it is to be human - and in so doing enrich the cultural landscape of Northwest, CT and the greater CT, NY and NJ region.

Since 2007 the artistic direction of the theater company has been led by Sally and Thomas Camm (whose theater connection to The Gary The Olivia Theater goes back to the 1987 production of Pablo Casal's Oratorio, El Pessebre). A native of Australia, Sally trained with both the Queensland Ballet and the Queensland Theater Company before touring Australia and Europe as a dance soloist and as an actor in Australia and London's West End. She taught at Cornish College for the Arts in Seattle and has choreogrphed over twenty original works. Thomas Camm studied dance in Boston with David Shields from London's Royal Ballet and as a scholarship student at the School of American Ballet in NYC. As a member of Actor's Equity and The American Guild of Musical Artists he performed as a soloist in the US, Austria, Germany and Switzerland and as a featured performer in musicals, operetta and oratorio. He has taught at Cornish College for the Arts, the Usdan Center for the Performing Arts, Center For Creative Studies, Tanz Etage and for the National Endowment for the Arts-Artists in Education program.

Currently the Clay & Wattles Theater Company's season runs from June through October with a play and two musicals and an annual concert fundraiser and workshops in music, theater and dance featuring working professionals in each discipline. Auditions are held each year and actors from the local community theater network, local colleges and universities and from Actor's Equity audition for roles in the various productions. Our audience is growing - 4,500-5,000 theatergoers attend performances each season and take advantage of the wonderful amenities our area has to offer.
