So if you’re looking to sharpen those skills, for virtually any sport and in any weather, you must stop into the Nutmeg State’s great sports facilities. What are you waiting for? Sports Center of Connecticut is geared towards children and family-friendly activities like batting cages, bowling, ice hockey, and golf ranges. Well-trained instructors are on-site to provide lessons to kids and adults, and the golf range has even been voted into the top 100 in America. Sports Center of Connecticut also has venues for birthday parties and corporate events.
Insports Center in Trumbull has one of the largest indoor turf fields in Connecticut as well as other facilities for camps, training, and adult leagues. Sports include girls’ and boys’ lacrosse, softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and surprisingly, even more! A wide variety of adult leagues, unfortunately for men only, are also available. High school students can also take advantage of the college sports recruiting program.
This large indoor sports facility offers teams and trainings for a wide range of sports including flag football, baseball, softball, field hockey, and wiffle ball. With teams for adults, the Wide World of Indoor Sports is a fun option for adults of all ages to join a league. They offer both co-ed and men’s teams and even have an over 30 men’s soccer league.
If basketball is your sport of choice, Connecticut Sports Arena has three basketball courts, offering clinics, clubs, and adult leagues. This sports complex also has soccer, volleyball, and performing arts clubs. Built for fun, Connecticut Sports Area also hosts a variety of exciting events.
Stamford’s Chelsea Piers is one of the best sports centers in the state. With everything from camps, competitive and non-competitive teams, fitness opportunities and instructional programs, Chelsea Piers is a great place to get involved and get in shape. This top-notch facility’s mission to provide an environment that is “always clean, safe, friendly and fun.”
Mandell JCC is equipped with six indoor basketball courts, four indoor volley ball courts, and four batting cages. For a bit of something different, they also offer pickleball. Camps, classes, and clinics are available at Mandell JCC and they also have men’s indoor basketball leagues, but people must register for this league as a team.
Though women’s sporting options are limited at many of the other sports complexes in Connecticut, Farmington Sports Arena offers a great women’s outdoor soccer league in the summer. Farmington Sports Arena also has indoor tracks, outdoor and indoor fields, and batting cages. Youth, teen, and adult (men) sports teams are also practiced year-round.
This massive complex features outdoor fields and an indoor dome to accommodate sports practices in the winter. Youth baseball, girls’ softball, soccer, and flag football teams are run all year long. CT Sportsplex also has a summer camp for children ages five to 13.
