“Resilience” Film Screening and Panel Discussion - The Town of Windsor Youth Services Bureau and Windsor Public Schools are excited to present the screening of the award-winning film Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope. This documentary dives into the science of the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACEs), creating a national movement to prevent toxic stress. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ACEs are traumatic events that occur during childhood and can make a negative impact on a person throughout adulthood. Traumatic experiences in childhood may increase the likelihood of chronic health conditions including obesity, diabetes, depression, heart disease, alcohol and drug abuse into adulthood. Further, graduation rates and time in the workforce may be negatively impacted. A panel discussion will take place following the film.
We welcome the Windsor community to learn more about the importance of disrupting the cycle of violence, addiction, and disease. Light refreshments will be served starting at 5:30p.m. and the film will begin at 6:00p.m. For more information please call the Windsor Youth Services Bureau at (860) 285-1990.
